HOW TO DO YOGA: KARMA CHAMELEON
Lizard Sequence to Eka pada Kurmasana . Featured in the Om Body section of Om Yoga & Lifestyle Magazine Jan/Feb 2015
Eka Pada Kurmasana and its advanced bound variation are two deep hip opener forward bends that activate all the main meridians connected with internal organs and detox systems of the body. In particular, as you maintain a steady and rhythmic Ujjiayi breath in any of the postures mentioned in this sequence, you will be working on the Lung and Large Intestine Meridians ( detox through exhalation and elimination/ Apana vayu) that run along your arms.
The inner channels of your legs that are stimulated with the deep hip openers , do benefit the flow of energy in the Liver, Spleen and Kidneys, all organs that are involved in keeping your blood rich in nutrients, clear from toxins and well oxygenated.
Finally the deep forward bends do activate the flow of Prana/Chi in the Bladder that runs along the back of your body, another organ that facilitate the flushing of toxins.
